Wild Dreams are Welcome
I'm writing to you from the Blue Ridge Mountains, where my family and I are staying on top of a misty hill, overlooking the valley.
I'm cozied up by the fire, and thinking about dreaming.
It's something that has been simmering on my heart and mind over the past few weeks, something that has been drawing me in, giving me hope, and bringing energy to my days.
Can you allow yourself to dream again?
Yep - like silly, big, simple, colorful, wild, playful dreams!
The past year has been heavy on all of us, on countless levels - spiritually, financially, relationally, mentally. It's been enough just to get through the next hour, the next day, and the next week, let alone allow ourselves the luxury of dreaming.
And I think many of us grew up with the message that we are allowed one big dream in our life, that there is one path to get there, and one major career fulfilling that dream. If we fulfill that, then we achieve success! (*applause!*)
Well, I'm here to challenge that.
You've got a golden ticket to dream again, right here, today.
Whether it's something that seems impossibly big, or something so simple and small it might seem insignificant to others.
Even if there are parts of your life that aren't "together enough" yet. Even if it's different from your dreams from last year or 5 or 10 years ago.
You're allowed to pivot. You don't have to know the how yet. Just follow that little spark of hope and energy and excitement and see where it leads you.
Today, this week, allow yourself the gift of getting giddy and asking yourself what if and why not.
Write it down, doodle it out, make a Pinterest board, or tell a friend, without any pressure.
And if you need someone to tell, just hit reply to this email and let me get excited with you!
We could all use a heaping dose of dreaming and hoping, and it's right here for the taking today. Enjoy it!
Dreaming wildly with you,
Sam
